AAUW National has many resources to assist either the State or Branch Public Policy Chairs and members of the AAUW-NM Advocacy Team.

AAUW Action Network and Two-Minute Activist list: The cornerstone of AAUW’s e-advocacy efforts, Action Network sends subscribers urgent email notices when their advocacy is needed most. With our Two-Minute Activist online tool, it takes no time to contact your legislators and make your voice heard. Anyone with an email address can subscribe and take action by signing up for the Two-Minute Activist. You can also join our Two-Minute Activist Mobile program to receive timely, targeted communication straight to your cell phone via text message. To subscribe, text “AAUW” to phone number 21333.

Washington Update: This weekly email bulletin for AAUW members offers an insider’s view on the public policy process, the latest federal policy news and updates from the national public policy team. This is sent to all members and Action Network participants.

Public Policy Priorities: AAUW’s Public Policy Priorities establish the action priorities on which AAUW members across the country focus their advocacy efforts and guide the work of the national staff. The adoption of AAUW’s Public Policy Priorities every two years is the culmination of a process involving AAUW members nationwide. Information about the Public Policy Priorities is available at

Quick Facts: AAUW Quick Facts are one-page overviews that provide concise snapshots of key AAUW policy positions. Quick Facts can be distributed at events, shared with legislators, and easily referenced for talking points on key issues.

AAUW Action Fund  The AAUW Action Fund advances equity for women and girls through member activism and voter mobilization.

AAUW Action Fund Congressional Voting Record: This provides information about U.S. Senators and Representatives through the votes they’ve cast on issues that are critical to AAUW’s mission. Copies of current and past voting records are available on the AAUW Action Fund website.

AAUW Policy Leaders Manual 2023-2024 provides an overview of the public policy chair role, the basics of public policy and advocacy, and sample tactics to take action. It also includes contact information for AAUW policy staff, a list of advocacy how-to resources, and excerpts of relevant AAUW policies.This manual covers all the basic how-tos.

AAUW Action Fund Policy Insights:  This series offers a unique and compassionate look at the ways real people are interacting with today’s most pressing problems, then dive into a clear analysis of where the 2020 presidential candidates stand on those matters.

Letters, Comments, Testimony and Legal Briefs: AAUW writes letters, testimony, and comments and signs on to coalition letters and amicus briefs. These documents are a great way to familiarize yourself with positions AAUW has taken on specific legislation or issues within the Public Policy Priorities.
